Laid back playdate

It was a laid back sort of day, which was nice.  John had a job interview with Whole Foods (yay! he got it!) and then had work at the library.  I took Johnny over to my friend Jenny's house and I hung out with Jenny and Kristen while he hung out with their adorable kids: Lucas, Lauren, Brayden, and Parker.  I brought Starbucks drinks for the moms and stuff to make s'mores for the kiddos, while the kids just had fun playing and fighting over toys.  We had fun outside and inside - a kiddie pool, outdoors toys, watermelon, Starbucks, conversation, s'mores, playing with toys inside, and more mom conversationThe perfect sort of day! It was a lot of fun and really relaxing. Tomorrow we'll be busy getting ready for our trip to Nevada this weekend and then we'll be back to the playdates on Tuesday.  I'm also glad that John decided we should go out to dinner tonight (a rare treat for us), so we took Johnny to Red Robin and he was well behaved. I'm thrilled I didn't have to cook dinner. :)  I finished the night off with a great conversation with my mom.  Lots of things to mull over.

Can I just say that I love my son?  Some cute things he has been saying lately:

Me: "Johnny, you are super cute."
Johnny: "I cute."

Johnny:

"Outsiiidddeeee!"

"I so" (= "I guess so"; he often leaves out the middle words.  He'll use this for answering anything he isn't interested in nor wants to commit an answer to.)

"Ah' done!" (= "All done"  Said whenever he finishes anything)

"YEAH!" (when he is excited for anything)

"Cooooo'" (=Cool, enthusiastically)

He also continues to be very polite about everything: "Dank you" (=thank you), "welc' um" (=welcome), "Ess you" (= Bless you).  He also loves to say "Ay you" (= I love you). :)  He is such a special little kid.  Most things I say he likes to copy, so I think this may mean he is getting better at actually being motivated to talk in sentences.  Being around other kids probably helps with this a lot.  I'm just so proud of my sweet little boy. I love him so much.

Sweet pictures of all the kids! I love the one of Johnny and the cute little blond boy making a fort out of couch cushions. I also like the one with you and Johnny together since I rarely get to see you in the picture. Love, Mom

I also was glad we were able to have a "good talk". I miss that. You need to know that you are a truly amazing woman, wife, mother, daughter and friend. God blessed Johnny when he chose you as his mom. Love you sweetie, Mom
