Date Nights

 Date Night with My Son

John started his new job at Whole Foods last weekend, so he was working from 3 to 11pm Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  After being home alone in the evenings on Saturday and Sunday, Johnny and I went out for a date just to get out of the house.  A mommy/son date. :)  It wasn't anything big or fancy - we just went to Panera Bread (a healthy fast food type restaurant that has natural and organic food and specialty is paninis, salads, and soups).  Johnny and I both love their food, so I thought it would be a good choice.  I got a chipotle chicken panini with an iced green tea (so delicious!  this is Johnny's favorite too), and Johnny got an organic grilled cheese kid's meal which came with organic yogurt.  I got a fresh baguette too that we brought home to munch on over the next few days, because their baguettes are ridiculously delicious! It was nice getting out of the house and going to dinner with my son.  He was so happy to go out too.  He was quite the conversationalist too, between the fighting noises his action figure was making and the yummy noises that he made whenever he took a sip of iced green tea or a bite of the baguette or his sandwich. :)  We picked up some ice cream at the grocery store on the way home and then spent the evening cuddling on the couch watching movies together. What a wonderful date night with my baby boy! I love him so much!

Date Night with My Husband

Last night I had a date night at home with John.  We love to do game nights every now and then together, so that is what we did last night.  Johnny sat at the table with us and played with extra pieces for a while, but then he got bored and watched Toy Story until bedtime, while we played our games.  The first game we played was Life and then we played Earthopoly, which is a version of Monopoly but earth-themed.  Both were a lot of fun!  We played Life for less an hour and Earthopoly for five hours or something like that.  I think we finally finished the very competitive game around 1am.  John won Life, I won Earthopoly.  We both got sillier as the night wore on and the exhaustion set in...which explains the last of the photos. :)

That's apple juice, in case you were wondering. :)

I think someone stacked the deck...

It figures this is what I would draw.

John decided he wanted to have a husband. :) Silly husband of mine.

I like to think my Life husband is Clive Owen or Jack Bauer from 24. ;)

John and his husband had a daughter!

Clive Owen/Jack Bauer and I had a boy! :)

Then we had fraternal twins...I hope this is not a foreshadowing of our next procreative attempts. yikes!

John kicked my butt.  He didn't go to college and won by a landslide (the margin would have been greater if I hadn't landed on a space to switch salary cards near the end) and I went to college and lost miserably.  Ugh. I hope this has no bearing on our future reality. :)

Sometimes John is even more organized than me. That's scary. ;)

Johnny watching Toy Story.

Earthopoly!

The game pieces - they're real natural items!

I picked the shell and John picked the bamboo.

No game night is complete without popcorn!

For some odd reason they didn't have a slot for the $1 bills...hmmmm.

No pictures mom!!

I ended up here more often than I liked...

This card is horrible when your husband remembers everything he has ever read. :(

Johnny crashed.

You put "clean air credits" down instead of houses - they are the green gems.

Some of my real estate cards - I ended up with 19 by the end of the game.

Parts of the game were spent with lots of mortgages between the two of us.

Instead of hotels there are "clean air" pieces - the white big gems.

John handing over the last of his money after he sold all of his real estate and still didn't have enough money to pay me rent. Ha! :)

Yes, I understand this is an extremely awkward photo of me, but John told me to look "greedy" and show off all my real estate.  We had been playing a version of monopoly for five or six hours, we were exhausted, it was 1 am, and we get silly when we're tired. Don't judge us too harshly. :)
