A Birthday Party: The Children's Museum

We went to the Children's Museum here in Denver for the first time today for Parker's 1st birthday party.  Parker is my friend Kristen's youngest little boy, and he is super adorable.  Happy Birthday Parker! :)  The Children's Museum was a blast and the birthday party was equally awesome.  I think we still prefer the Children's Museum in Portland, but this one was a lot of fun too.  The only thing we didn't like was that the museum had two floors and a huge staircase with no gate or anything to stop little kids from running toward them.  Other than that we had a great few hours at the museum this morning and early afternoon.  There were thirteen kids at the party and after the birthday party in the party room, they all went crazy in the museum.  I took a lot of pictures, mostly because I was taking pictures for my friends too, and partly because I like to take a lot of pictures all the time.  :)  This post is going to be photo heavy, but I love them all!  Please excuse the quality of the pictures though, as the lighting in the museum was really atrocious.

Johnny was obsessed with the firetruck
Brayden & Parker (the birthday boy) - super cute brothers!
Parker kept sneaking suckers while his parents were setting things up for the party. :)
Suckers are so much better when they still have the paper on them.
Johnny loves the Dalmatian doll they had in the firetruck.  So much so that he wouldn't share with other children.
Kristen and her baby boy, Parker. :)
 Prestyn on the firetruck
 Johnny inside the firetruck
 Jenny cuddling with Parker
 Johnny loved his sucker
He made a huge sticky mess *sigh*
Some of the kids decorating their visors
 Some of the kids
Coloring his visor
Jessica helping the kids decorate
 Prestyn, Trenton, & Johnny
Parker was making his way around to all of the adults for cuddle time
 Johnny's decorated visor
 Trenton showing me his visor
Prestyn enjoying his sucker
Aliney, Brielle, Alicia, and Emily - all beautiful!
This was how he wanted to wear his visor
The birthday party room
Johnny discovered the mirror and had fun making faces at himself
The birthday cake (poor Kristen, she dropped the Winnie the Pooh cake she made)
Kristen & Parker with the cake (after he stuck his foot into the side of it) :)
The lights were off when he blew the candle out
Alicia and her youngest sister Hailey - both so cute!
Brayden was shoving cake into his mouth :)
Parker in his birthday t-shirt from the museum
 Johnny with a fireman statue
Playing at the pretend Whole Foods
He was more interested in putting all the food back on the shelves than pretend shopping
 Trains!
This place was cool - there were tunnels inside this tree that they could climb through and pop up randomly out of other holes.  There were also squirrel and rabbit costumes (there is a squirrel in this picture).  Johnny loved the tunnels a lot and played in them for a long time.
Parker was tired and needed a bottle - too much excitement for the birthday boy!
Playing in one of the nests with a stuffed frog
Inside a tree
Playing with Lucas, his Star Wars buddy
Trenton playing with stuffed animals in front of one of the nests
Johnny was wrestling with these giant teddy bears
 And dragging them
 Johnny won
 Playing in the western-style town
He was playing with a mill in the Millhouse
Prestyn in a row boat, fishing.
Johnny loved the slide, as usual
Making silly faces at his daddy from inside a treehouse
Emily and Parker in the Millhouse
 Pretty Emily using the mill
Alicia and Trenton playing with a puzzle
Emily in the rowboat
Lauren wasn't into the idea of a photo
 Trenton
Brayden playing with an I-Spy bag

We all had a blast today, but we're all really tired too.  We're looking forward to a relaxing evening at home with some homemade pizza for dinner.  Thank you again, Kristen, for throwing a wonderful birthday party! :)  It was nice seeing all my friends too: Kristen, Jenny, Kim, Konstance, and Jessica.  :)  Johnny would probably live in the Children's Museum if we let him! John had to carry him to the car while Johnny sobbed and kicking.  I let John calm Johnny down in the car while I visited the gift shop and got Johnny a t-shirt. ;) I hope everyone else has been having an enjoyable Saturday as well!

I remember going to a Children's Museum when I was little... a total madhouse and totally fun! It looks like Johnny had a good time!! Fun, fun, fun!

Definitely a madhouse. We actually prefer the one in Portland that is owned by the same company as the one here in Denver, but there were a lot of fun things to do at this one too. :) Johnny especially loved the firetruck and the tunnels - typical boy obsessions! :)

Nen, you didn't sound whiny at all. We all have days where we need to get our feelings out there, and you every right to feel the way you feel. I hope your day got a little better. :)
