Happy Earth Day!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Earth Day!! :)  Since John had school all day today, we had already decided to postpone Earth Day until Friday or possibly Saturday.  That ended up being a great decision because there ended up being severe thunderstorms and tornado warnings in Denver today.  The tornado sirens even went off at John's school today.  The warnings are still going on; we've had thunderstorms here where we're at, but I think the tornado will bypass our area of Denver, God willing.  There are severe spring storm warnings in the mountains too with talks of heavy amounts of snow.  I pray that there is no major damage or injuries as a result of the storms today.  It was definitely not a day for being outside or planting a garden or any of the other things that we had planned for Earth Day, so I'm glad we had already decided to postpone it.

Johnny had a fun day playing with his panda bear dolls today though and watching Fern Gully:)

Here is a picture from last night of Johnny that I really liked too:

I also have some very exciting news!  Today on Facebook, I won an Organic ERGObaby Carrier for free!!!!!!!!!  I have been wanting one for sooooooooo long, and now I have one! :)  They are normally $120-150 new.  This is an awesome prize to win!  They hold up to 90lbs, so I'll be able to carry around my 30 lb toddler in it for a while as well (not sure I'll be carrying him until he's 90 lbs though...) and I'll be able to use it for our next baby too. :)  These are considered one of the best baby carriers out there by moms in the baby-carrying and natural circles.  I would like to thank those at ERGO for the wonderful giveaway; I am very thankful. :)  I will post pictures as soon as I get it in the mail!!

One last thing - back in February I wrote about my purchase of cloth feminine pads (or mama cloth) and I promised a review of them.  Well, I have used them, and I love love love them! :) Seriously, they are so comfortable it is unbelievable that I went so long wearing disposable ones.  The ones that I bought had snap presses on the wings, and stayed put.  They were way more absorbent than regular pads so you had to change them less frequently throughout the day.  They were unbelievably easy to wash as well.  I can't see myself going back to disposable pads anytime soon, especially since I was pretty sensitive to the chemicals in them.  If you are interested in checking them out yourself, I bought mine from Naturally Hip on Etsy.  She had wonderful customer service and she has lovely patterns and variety.  :)  I will definitely be purchasing some more from her in the future as well as trying to make my own as my sewing skills progress.

Now I'm off to eat dinner with my little family! :)  I hope tomorrow and the rest of the weekend has less tumultuous weather so we can do the Earth Day activities that we had planned. :)
