Mischief

Two days ago Johnny asked for an apple as a snack.  Lately he has wanted to eat it whole rather than having me slice it for him, so I gave him the apple and then proceeded to do what I needed to do in the kitchen.  I would glance over at him occasionally to make sure he was still doing okay with the apple, and every time I looked he'd be happily munching away at his apple.  By the time I was done in the kitchen, Johnny had eaten the entire apple.  I was super excited about this because he usually eats about half of it and then doesn't want it anymore and I have to finish it.

My excitement faded, however, one I realized that he ate the entire thing...including the core.  YUCK.  The entire thing ended with Johnny giving me a huge proud grin...and then coughing up the stem into my hand.  *sigh*  {I really hope that he doesn't end up being the kid who eats paste when he's in school...}

Yesterday Johnny took a large tomato off of the kitchen table while John and I were cooking dinner and proceeded to smash it and pull it apart and then prance all over the pulpy remains and tomato juice.  On our carpet.  This happened in the matter of ten seconds, and when we looked back to check on him, we saw this little boy with an impish grin prancing on a giant puddle of tomato sauce and seeds in the dining room.  It took me roughly two seconds of shock before I was able to get my body to do anything - namely scream and then pick him up and have John go and clean him off.  I then spent the next ten minutes scrubbing tomato pulp and seeds out of the carpet while my impish two year old sat in time out singing to himself (he wasn't even sorry!).

He's lucky I didn't give him away.

But then again, how can I be angry with him, when he is so darn cute?  The picture below was taken only an hour or so after the tomato incident...

He's so lucky he's cute.  And that he gives mama kisses, because he would be on a plane to his grandparents house right now if he weren't so sweet (when he's not getting into mischief).  *sigh*

Too funny! At least the apple core isn't bad for him, but it couldn't have been too tasty. He WILL not be the boy eating paste or worms! Adorable picture. You can send him on a plane up here ANYTIME you may need a small break!!! It is cruel to get your Dad's hopes up like that! Love you, Mom
